Today in China

From the 29th Floor Series.

The smog in Wuxi is nearly gone after more than four days of pollution levels that jumped well into the zone of danger.  Strong winds yesterday pushed the pollution from the city center over lake and into the countryside. A friend in Changsha commented that the out-of-ordinary levels of pollution may be the result of rice farmers burning their fields after a harvest. It seems that the amount of pollution would have come from an incredible amount of field burning. Either way, the city appears to be on the rebound and the sun is out today.
