One Fine Adventure: Pashupatinath, Kathmandu, Nepal

This is Pashupatinath. This is a very important temple are to Lord Shiva in Kathmandu. I was invited into the very small temporary dwelling of Swami Sajeevanada. He made me tea and shared some of his spiritual journeys and meditations styles with me. A truly devoted believer and a wonderful conversationalist. Along the banks of the Bagmati River within the temple, Hindus cremate the bodies of their deceased loved ones. I was blessed to be witness to three cremations today. I can happily say that I had the respect to put my camera down. Unfortunately many tourists did not have the same respect for the ritual. This is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites that I’ve seen in India and Nepal.
